We’re all about creativity, community, and supporting printmakers at every stage. Our studio is a lively space where ideas thrive, connections are made, and your creative potential can grow.
Sonsoles Print Studio (SPS) was established in 2012 and we are the only open-access screen-printing studio in Peckham. Our studio is not just a place to learn screen-printing but a community bonded by our shared creative passion.
SPS was founded by Sonsoles (Soni) Marquez, pronounced Son-sol-ez, who studied MA Fine Art Printmaking at the Royal College of Art. The studio is run by Soni and a small team of professional artist-printmakers. She opened SPS out of a personal need for affordable studio space and aims to provide accessibility for all.
We offer annual memberships and pay-as-you-go sessions, making screen-printing accessible long-term without the pressure of high monthly fees. We are never open without a technician present to ensure members receive the support they need. Our goal is to encourage members to return, feeling encouraged rather than overwhelmed.
Through our members' exhibitions and events, we aim to nurture professional development, creating an inclusive community of complete beginners, crafters, early stage, emerging and established artists and designers.
Through our masterclasses and workshops, we seek to educate and enrich our membership experiences, also offering opportunities to teach and lead.
Our mission is to nurture a thriving community of printmakers who are inspired, empowered, and connected. We strive to offer more than just access to printing facilities – we aim to provide an environment that supports personal growth and creative exploration.
We believe in inspiring creativity, building confidence in our members' abilities, and providing opportunities for growth. By connecting people with each other, with experts, and with the local community, we foster a sense of belonging and mutual support. Our mission is to ensure that Sonsoles Print Collective becomes an integral part of our members' lives, not just a place to print.
Our vision is to become a leading centre for printmaking that is synonymous with creativity, excellence, and community. We envision SPS as a place where every member feels like a part of something special – a community that offers unique opportunities and experiences.
We are committed to expanding our impact by continuously evolving to meet the needs of our community. By offering a diverse range of services and fostering a supportive environment, we aim to set the standard for print studios worldwide.
Our vision includes deepening our relationships with members, providing platforms for them to showcase and sell their work, and creating new opportunities for connection and collaboration. As we continue to provide excellence in print services, we are committed to expanding on ways to make screen-printing truly accessible for all.
Our vision includes providing residency schemes, platforms to showcase and sell work, and events that foster connection and collaboration. We aim to expand on the outreach work we do with schools and local community groups, and those who don’t typically have access to screen-printing facilities.
Our core values – creativity, community, and sustainability – are at the heart of everything we do at Sonsoles Print Studio. We believe that creativity flourishes in an inclusive, safe, and enjoyable space. Our studio is designed to make everyone feel welcome, fostering a sense of belonging where all are encouraged to explore and grow creatively.
We are committed to minimising our environmental impact through sustainable practices. By offering in-house digital positives and screen services, we reduce our carbon footprint and waste, cutting down on the need for external suppliers, excess materials, and transportation. We operate solvent-free, using only water-based inks to maintain a cleaner, more sustainable workspace.
I know how places like this are so much more than “just” a printing studio. It’s vital that they are saved, supported, and allowed to flourish for all of our benefit. I also appreciate just how much the people behind them personally commit”
David Saxby, co-founder and director of Architecture 00.
We value the importance of supporting and connecting with our local community. Through tailored workshops on a sliding scale, we ensure that screen printing is accessible to local schools and groups. We actively seek new ways to outreach, engage, and accommodate our neighbors, strengthening the creative community around us.
Sonsoles Print Studio is invited to join the Havelock Walk Open Studios this year! We will bring along a new crossover design on one of our screens for demonstrations on paper AND tote-bags - why not pop along and have a go?!

Sonsoles Print Studio has been a home to many for the 13 years we’ve been open, but now we want to see what home means to you?
It was a pleasure to visit our friend Tom Murphy in the studio, who generously shared his knowledge and wisdom on all things screen printing.
